Car Compensation system
P&Customers who use our rental service are required to fill in the P&J automobile compensation system.
Outline of automobile compensation system
This applies to vehicle damages, liability accidents, and injuries caused by the person on board the rental vehicle or while using the rental vehicle.
- Compensation period
- We will cover the entire number of days from our departure date to our arrival date.
- Compensation fee

In the case of an accident covered by compensation, the amount will be borne by the customer for every accident.
(One accident refers to an accident that occurs within one operation. In addition, the compensation amount, for the second and subsequent accidents and theft incidents at the same site, is doubled.) - Leave compensation
- We will charge you for the total loss of the rental vehicle and downtime incurred during the repair period.
- Compensated person
- Customers who have joined the compensation system, our company and sub-contractors who have been permitted to use it.
- Insurance contract
- P&As regards the P & J automobile compensation system, we are the policyholder and have concluded an automobile insurance contract with the non-life insurance company with the customer as the insured.

Accidents covered by compensation
Personal liability compensation
You can receive compensation for legal liability (within the scope of compensation specified in Personal Liability Compensation) for damages caused to a third party (other person) while driving a rental vehicle normally.
* 1 An accident that occurs during normal operation is an accident that occurs while driving with the specified correct usage, and an accident that occurs due to intentional or reckless driving is not considered an accident during normal operation.
Property liability compensation
You can receive compensation for legal liability (within the scope of compensation specified in the objective liability compensation) for damages caused to a third party (property of another person) while driving the rental vehicle normally.
Personal injury compensation
Compensation will be provided if the person normally on board the regular boarding equipment of the rental vehicle is killed in an accident or suffers a residual injury or injury. The person can receive compensation for lost profits and medical expenses that occur at the event of an injury, up to the amount of compensation for each indemnified person per accident.
Vehicle compensation
1. Damage caused by a collision or contact between a rental vehicle and another vehicle.
2. Damage caused by fire while storing and using the rental vehicle. (Fires caused by earthquakes are excluded.)
3. Damage caused by wind and flood disasters while storing and using rental vehicles.
4. Damage caused by theft while storing and using the rental vehicle.
5. Damage caused by graffiti or mischief while storing or using the rental vehicle.
6. Damage caused by a single accident or escape while storing or using a rental vehicle.
Accidents not covered by compensation
Personal liability compensation / Property liability compensation
1. When the person who caused the accident and the victim who was killed or injured are parents, spouses, children, relatives living together, or colleagues at the company.
2. Damage caused to property owned, used or managed by the subscriber’s company.
3. Damage to property owned, used and managed by the driver’s company (including JVs and collaborators) and individuals.
4. Damage to the construction object itself under contract by the customer (damage to the building under construction, etc.)
5. Compensation in case of settlement only between the parties.
6. When the accident has not been reported to the relevant police authority.
Personal injury compensation
1. Injury caused by the indemnified person’s intentional or gross negligence.
2. Injury while the indemnified person is driving a rental vehicle without the requisite driving qualifications.
3. Injury caused by an earthquake or eruption or tsunami.
Vehicle compensation
1. Damage caused by earthquakes, eruptions, tsunamis, capsizing, and crashes.
2. Due to neglect of common-sense during start-up inspection (hydraulic oil, oil, cooling water, safety device, etc.)
3. Accident due to overloading.
4. Defects, wear, corrosion, salt damage, rust, and other natural damage.
5. Damage caused by crimes that can identify the criminal, such as fraud, embezzlement, and robbery.
6. Damage caused to tires
7. Damage caused by intentional, gross negligence, or serious violation of laws and regulations such as drunk driving and substance abuse.
8. Damage caused by theft under improper management conditions (such as leaving the key locked).
9. When the accident report has not been submitted to the police in charge.

If an accident happens
1,First, rescue the injured
If anyone is injured, the top priority is to take possible first aid measures to help the injured until the arrival of a doctor or an ambulance.
2,Preventing danger on the streets, etc.
In the event of a traffic accident, move the vehicle to a safe place to prevent more accidents. Also, in the case of property damage, take first-aid measures to prevent the damage from spreading.
3,Report the accident to the police
①In case of a car accident, please make sure to report it to the police.
(In the case of a personal injury, a personal injury notification is required. For traffic accidents on public roads, police notification is required under Article 72 of the Road Law.)
②In case of a theft accident, please be sure to report it to the police as a “theft accident”.
③If you need to notify the public authorities, please follow the prescribed notification procedures.
4,Contact the insurance company immediately (Accident Support Center 0120-256-110)
Please let us know the details of the accident regardless of the size of the accident.
①Date and time of the accident
②Location of the accident
③Customer‘s name, address, contact information (TEL, FAX, person in charge), driver’s name, relationship with customer, copy of driver‘s license, rental number or registration number of accident car, content and extent of damage.
④Accident situation
⑤Address, name, phone number, etc. of the other party
・Property damage accident… In case of vehicle damage → damage details, vehicle name, registration number, repair shop, telephone number
・Personal injury: Injury details, hospital name, phone number
⑥The other insurance company, phone number, person in charge
⑦For property damage accidents, please take pictures of the vehicle damage and the damaged property.
* Please make sure to contact the sales office that delivered the vehicle for the accident report.
《Attention》
Please do not negotiate a settlement between the parties.
In the event that a settlement is negotiated between the parties, it may not be covered by the compensation.
Please note that even if you are eligible for compensation, not all the contents of the settlement can be compensated.
The purpose of using personal information
(1)As a business operator who has received a business license for a rental car, in order to carry out the required matters under the conditions of the business license, such as creating a rental book when concluding a rental contract.
(2) To provide the lessee with a rental car and related services.
(3) To verify and examine the identity of the borrower.
